My dad taught me to always own up to my mistakes, and I try (read: I don't always but I have the best intentions) to make honesty my policy. Tonight (for the first time, maybe ever) I saw a large corporation do just that. Toyota is airing a pretty fantastic ad on all the major networks addressing the recent (massive) recall. While it's hard to forgive such a significant foible, Toyota's Marketing team nailed with the honesty-is-the-best-policy approach.

Spotted: Jobs 11:20 AM
One of my coworkers (a young Scottish male) ran into Steve Jobs at the yogurt place by our office in Palo Alto. Jobs was fiddling with his iPhone. My coworker says, "good thing its not a BlackBerry!" with a chuckle. Jobs did not think it was funny. In other news, the iPad was launched today. Seriously? "iPad?" That's the best you could come up with, Jobs?
